“Watershed Moment: a pivotal event that marks a significant change or turning point in history, life, or a situation.”
When I first conceived of this exhibition and its title, we were not yet engulfed as we are now in this pivotal moment on earth. Today, it seems more important than ever to come together as human beings who care for each other, to find courage to speak and act for the good of all on our planet. I truly believe humans are meant to be kind and loving. It is our strength, not a weakness. Let us stand together for Canada, and for all who need our help during this Watershed Moment on around the World.
Please Join Us at Gallery 78, April 4th for the Opening of my Exhibition: Watershed Moments” . The show will run April – May. Joy and wonder will be your reward for visiting!

Exhibition Statement
“Watershed Moments” invites viewers to navigate the currents of change and introspection through a dynamic collection of abstract works. Featuring both wild, untamed ocean-inspired pieces and vibrant non-representational compositions, the exhibition captures the beauty and tension of life’s pivotal turning points.
Like waves crashing against the shore, these moments demand that we pause, reflect, and decide which path to take. Through bold strokes, layered textures, and evocative colour palettes, Monika Wright explores the emotional and spiritual essence of these transformative times.
The ocean paintings, with their untethered energy and unpredictable movement, mirror the power of nature to shape our lives. In contrast, the non-representational works offer an inner landscape—alive with possibility, hope, and renewal. Together, they create a journey that is at once deeply personal and universally resonant.
Which way will we go? “Watershed Moments” encourages us to embrace uncertainty, find courage, resilience and beauty in the choice, reminding us that every turning point holds the potential for growth, reinvention, and joy.
