So, here it is…I love sharing my art with you and hearing your thoughts, reading your comments and ideas about what you see happening in my sketches and paintings on Facebook and Instagram. When I’ve created something new that I’m thrilled about, I get excited and want to pass a little of that energy on to you right then and there. I’m like a kid who can’t wait to see the reaction to the gift they made for a special friend. I create art for so many reasons, and sharing is one of them.
But – and here’s where the dilemma kicks in – I wish there was a way to eliminate the constant onslaught of scammers and fraudsters. The more presence I have on Facebook and Instagram, the more requests I seem to get for ‘commissions’ of a dog (nope, I don’t paint animals), or an anniversary present for someone’s wife, for NFT purchases, or for murals to be painted of my artwork in some far-away place (why would I encourage copying my art?). And I won’t even get into the barrage of ‘lonely men’ (and sometimes women) who are just dying to find their soul mate. You get the drift, right?
I’ve got new paintings and sketches waiting to share with you, and I really do want you to see them, so I’ll schedule a few posts to come out over the next month or so. My solution, for now, is to take a little break from interacting as often while I go away on my fabulous getaway to Spain and Morocco. I’m going to fill my soul with some new experiences so I can bring you a refreshed version of myself and my artwork when I’m back in the studio.
In the meantime, I hope you’ll check in to browse the paintings on my Website, to read the Blog posts I write from time to time. If someone has passed this on to you, please Subscribe so you don’t miss out on new artwork, events and offers. And most of all, I hope you’ll fill your own hearts with the people and the things that bring you joy

I wanted to share this cool technique I just used on one of my night sky paintings. I painted portions of the painting, mostly the star points, with phosphorescent paint that makes those areas glow in the dark. When I turn the lights out, it’s like looking at the night sky with stars twinkling. Go ahead, make a wish, night after night. It’s hard to get a photo of just how brilliant it looks, but maybe this will give you an idea. And here’s my wish for you: May all your hopes and dreams of goodness and love come true!

Thank you for all your encouragement, your support and participation in my artistic journey. You are a big part of why these artworks are made.
I know your trip will bring you a breath of fresh air and renewed energy. You know I love you and your paintings and will always want to see what’s new. As artists we create for our pleasure and to bring that pleasure to others. Art is so subjective. It’s important to know that the only opinion that matters is yours, for what you create comes from within.❤️
As far as instagram goes I lasted only a few days before I removed the app. Everything was a scam.
I wish you peace love and happiness.

Thanks for taking the time to stay in touch ?
Dear Monica. I have given up on Facebook entirely. I am a new comer to instagram and while I appreciate the opportunity to share my work on this platform, I share your disappointment with the more unsavoury aspects of an online presence. I truly wish there was a better solution.
I may be right behind you on FB, or get thicker skin! But I’m glad to have your support here on my website, Louise❣️
Have a wonderful holiday Monika! And thanks for sharing your thoughts on the online conundrum. More and more I think of stepping away as well. All the best.
